A ROMA LIFE IN BRUSSELS

Maria Rostas and her family are from the city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It's been ten years that Nicolae, the father of the family, lives in Brussels while his seven children and his wife joined him four years later. Like many Roma in Romania, the Rostas fled the poor living conditions added to a severe discrimination suffered by the "national minority".If during the last five years Maria and her siblings have been going to school with the help of the social help in Belgium, there is a gap between school and home life. The daily becomes a mixture of "Belgian lifestyle » which confronts the Roma traditions.
